Paul Fox

UK MANAGING DIRECTOR

Paul joined Acumen in 2023 to lead the UK recruitment arm of the business. Paul has been recruiting into the London insurance market for 15 years, specialising primarily in sourcing Actuarial and Risk professionals. He joins Acumen to help develop our highly skilled recruitment team and to grow our UK Insurance industry partners.

The UK recruitment team’s deep areas of expertise include Actuarial and Risk Management, Finance, Operations, Compliance and Change and Technology.

Paul is well-networked and highly respected for his market knowledge amongst the CRO’s and Chief Actuaries of the UK general insurance market. He has extensive expertise in both executive search and interim resourcing. He has also developed successful teams of contingent recruiters delivering on difficult-to-fill and time-sensitive assignments.

Ally Boelstler

CONSULTANT – ACTUARIAL

Ally has been working in the Actuarial Recruitment team at Acumen since 2024. She has been working in recruitment since 2019 with her specialty being in Actuarial following getting her master’s from Northumbria University. She is well versed in both contracting and permanent markets.

Tom Brooks

SENIOR CONSULTANT

Tom heads up our wider Insurance recruitment desk, covering roles in Underwriting, Broking, Claims and Legal. With close to 10 years’ industry experience, Tom is well connected within the Lloyds market and global maritime market and has extensive expertise in recruiting at all levels, covering roles from entry level graduate/trainee up to C-Level. To date, he has placed in over 20 countries and works with many large international brokers, managing agents, syndicates and maritime insurance/legal teams globally.

Graham Butler

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR LIFE ACTUARIAL | UK, EUROPE & BERMUDA

Graham leads our Actuarial Life division in the UK and also specialises in the Bermuda market. He has worked within the actuarial arena since 2010 assisting clients within both industry and consultancy environments. Graham has a vast network of candidates from analyst through to partner levels, as well as contingent recruitment Graham has supported several businesses with recruitment campaigns and guidance ranging from graduate hiring to senior level retained searches across the UK, Europe and Asia markets.

Aliyah Karachiwalla

RECRUITER – FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING

Aliyah is a UK part qualified accountant alongside holding a 1st class honors in Accounting and Finance from University. She joined Acumen in April 2024 as a Consultant for the Accounting & Finance division servicing our clients in the insurance and reinsurance industry, globally. Aliyah brings extensive accounting and finance knowledge from her degree, as well as a broad recruitment knowledge having worked on global mandates previously.

Leah Lanigan

SENIOR CONSULTANT – ACTUARIAL

I am experienced recruiter with over 2 years working in the Tech and Insurance Industry. I completed a Sales Management Diploma in Dublin City University in 2022 where I received a Distinction. I moved to London over 2 years ago to pursue my career in Recruitment.

I specialize in connecting with actuaries, data science and pricing professionals within the market and networking with our international clients within the insurance Industry. Having a strong understanding of the current market trends / skill sets it allows me to present the best talent to my network. Charlie joined Acumen in 2024 to spearhead the growth and development of the Actuarial practice in the UK. She has extensive experience recruiting into the Lloyds and London Market on a permanent and interim basis.

Charlie has cultivated a wide-spread network of Actuaries and Risk professionals throughout her time in the market and has a proven track record of recruiting Actuarial professionals in the UK and Bermuda from junior to senior Executive search projects.
